Bird Conservation
The interactive art installation is designed to provoke awareness of bird conservation. When a visitor walks across the background image, a bird will follow the visitor. If the visitor ignores the bird and passes projector screen carelessly, nothing will happen further. However, if the visitor stops to look at the bird and reaches out his or her hands, a tree will appear with an image of a critical endangered bird nested in the tree. It suggests that if you care the nature, you can help birds by “becoming” a tree, a home for these critically endangered birds.
This project was sponsored by USI Faculty Research and Creative Work Award.
It is permanently installed in the Discovery Center of Evansville Mesker Park Zoo.
